Acupuncture treatments for...
Musculoskeletal Pain
If you are experiencing pain in your back, neck, elbow, shoulder or knee, it’s a good chance that pain is a musculoskeletal condition brought on by an injury, condition, your age or simply overdoing it. Treating these areas with acupuncture stimulates the nervous system to stop your pain, free up your energy, and restore your system back to its natural, healthy state.
Back Pain
Your back can hurt for a variety of reasons, from the strains and sprains that happen in everyday life, to the conditions like Sciatica or a herniated disc that can cause chronic pain. Back pain is one of the top reasons people seek out an acupuncturist’s care, because acupuncture is a safe, effective and proven way to ease their pain. If your back hurts you should definitely try acupuncture first—particularly if you have been told that surgery is your only option.

Sciatica Disappeared Almost Immediately
“I came to Ingri with severe neck pain and sciatica, with a pain level of seven on a scale of one to ten. After only two treatments, I am feeling excellent! The sciatica and neck pain disappeared almost immediately. On a scale of one to ten now…my pain is at zero!” — Stephanie G., Bethel
Neck Pain
Everyone has had an achy neck at one time or another. Neck pain can come from stress, computer or cell phone use, a sports injury, a car accident, or prolonged exposure to a cold draft. No matter the cause, acupuncture can make that pain quickly disappear by releasing the tightness and knots in your neck. Relief is often felt after the first treatment. Addressing neck pain as it happens can also stop it from traveling up your spine to create other issues like headaches or jaw pain.

Elbow Pain
Many of the repetitious movements that we do, like playing tennis, gardening, typing or even playing the piano, can cause inflammation of the connective tissues surrounding the elbow, and lead to the development of issues like tendonitis or arthritis. Acupuncture applied on points specific to the elbow can heal these tissues, and reduce the pain you are feeling. Acupuncture also releases endorphins that stimulate the body’s own healing abilities, which lets you get back to tennis or whatever you love doing, sooner.
Shoulder Pain
Shoulders are a common problem area due to their complexity and potential for injury. Issues usually arise from sports or exercise, heavy lifting, or from the onset of arthritis. Shoulder pain can happen to people of all ages, and if left untreated, the pain, numbness and discomfort felt in the shoulders will often show up in other parts of the body. Acupuncture is very helpful for shoulder issues and often brings quick relief. It is a gentle, painless treatment that many people find relaxing.

Foot & Ankle Pain
Many of us will have foot pain at one point or another. Specific foot problems include turf toe, plantar fasciitis, bunions, Achilles tendonitis, diabetic nerve pain and ankle sprains, which can be acute or chronic. Acupuncture treats foot and ankle pain very effectively, minimizes swelling and restores circulation to clear up the muscular injury. In the case of a fracture, where healing tends to be slow, acupuncture will speed up the healing process and helping the body regenerate bone.

Knee Pain
Pain in the knees is usually the result of an injury or degenerative issue. An ACL tear is one of the most common and debilitating knee injuries. When the tear is severe, conventional medicine recommends surgery. However, as in the case of most other knee injuries, acupuncture can allow you to recover full function of your knees without the cost or trauma of surgery. Acupuncture stabilizes your knee muscles to prevent further damage, and reduces pain and inflammation to speed up the healing process.
Hip Pain
Your hips can hurt due to a hamstring injury, osteoarthritis, bursitis or a fracture. Injuries to the hips can limit your range of motion, and if the problem continues without intervention, the hip can lose its ability to function normally. Acupuncture treatments reduce inflammation and help the injured muscles heal quickly. Acupuncture also reduces your body’s reactive “guarding” that often contributes to further distress. With acupuncture, it is often possible for you to return to normal levels of activity painlessly.
Hand & Wrist Pain
Our hands and wrists are susceptible to a variety of issues including carpal tunnel, tendonitis, arthritis and fractures. Overuse strains the tendons between the hand and forearm, resulting in inflammation and swelling. Acupuncture relieves inflammation to decrease pain. Acupuncture also helps relieve the underlying cause of tendonitis by eliminating the original stress. In the case of fractures, once the bones are set, acupuncture can stimulate your body’s repair mechanisms and encourage bone growth.
